I'm a whore for new hyped Xbox Arcade games.
I got a kick out of 'Splosion Man with it's simplicity. Now I'm downloading Shadow Complex because they say it's like a modern love-letter to Super Metroid.

and it is, it really is. Nice large map, tons of stuff to find... apparently they've got achievements that encourage sequence breaking... and I'm killing Viperfish on the leaderboards (the game tracks headshots / melee attacks / bomba punting and whenever you do one of those things, it shows your relation to your friends on that stat)...
I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. Pretty impressive for a Live Arcade. Seems like there's one every year that just stands out. Braid was last year's.

It's nearly winter, so I'll be looking for indoor distraction soon.
I shall google for recommendations, as none of you bawbags have time for PS3 or DS.

Yup, it's pretty special. I'm glad that developers are finally realising that this generation's hardware is perfect for making amazing 2D games, rather than generic 3D ones with dodgy cameras.
Cheaper, too.

I do believe I just heard a gauntlet being thrown down. It, sir, is most definitely on.

Yeah, I'm fully caught up now.
My boss ended up giving me the following day off! (at 9am)
Reading tonight though, and then up early to go up to West Ham vs Blackburn in Blackburn.
Have you got Metal Gear Solid 4?

I don't particularly like it online, but the offline content is well worth it. Lots of replay value.

my brother loves this.
Add me too:

Batman Arkham Asylum is stunning. Excellent game. SDhadow C omplex an excellent game. Will pick up trials shortly.
Dirt 2 - presentation and visuals are unparallelled. Check the demo. The gameplay seems a bit lacking, but this picks up where Dirt evolved to Grid and has taken an awful lot on board. Prefer the tarmac racing of Grid, can't wait for the sequel.

Other way around for me man, online is hilariously interactive, so many lolz.
Thanks for the recommendation, I do fancy that.

Ok, will add you next time I start up my 360.. What's your brothers' gamertag? I could do with some more Trials HD players
I added that because Trials HD may lack a bit of its' challenge without online friends who also play it. The real challenge is in improving your times compared to others, but apart from that it's a very well-crafted game in general... The gameplay is great and the tracks are increasingly difficult (too difficult at times), which warrants a lot of replayablity - not to say addictive quality. Some of the skill games are also quite funny. Lots of value for only 1200gp.
Enjoyed Shadow Complex too, awesome graphics, but haven't unlocked the full game yet.

it looks like they're remaking the first two Metroid Prime games for the Wii, hopefully using the FANTASTIC control scheme of Metroid Prime Corruption...
Yes, using said controls. Way better than a Wavebird. And the whole trilogy clocks in, cash-wise, the same as a new first-party title. So if you don't have any of 'em, I'd say it's worth it.

Metroid Corruption's control system was universally condemned, and rightly so.

Which platform? XBox or Wii?
My GH3 guitar is not working properly, time to smash it Townshend style and get one of the newer games.

I'm on Xbox. They did a great job of balancing out the obvious singles (Sgt. Pepper's, Hard Day's Night, etc) with songs that area little less radio-saturated (I Me Mine, Dig a Pony, Hey Bulldog, etc).
And they're going to put forth full albums; perhaps they'll get the entire catalog into plastic guitarists' hands...
PS Ringo has some really fun drum fills.
