I enjoyed it. The music is horrible, Dr Manhattan is stupid, and it goes on a little long, but the fight scenes are gratifying and it largely dispenses with the book's preachy pretentiousness and metaliterary tedium, which is a good thing.

SPOILARS!!
Bad:
Carla Gugino was uniformly terrible in every scene besides the one where she is beaten up.
Malin Akerman was wildly inconsistent, depending on who she was acting against.
Adrian Veidt, Manhattan and The Comedian disappeared from the middle of the film.
Richard Nixon looked like Danny DeVito as the Penguin, and spoke like a bad caricature of Richard Nixon.
Some gratuitous and obtrusive music choices.
It felt like 10 - 15 people max died at the climax, rather than 15 million.
Bubastis is in the film for no reason whatsoever.
The final scene in the Frontiersman office was horrifically butchered. It felt like it had been guest directed by George Lucas.
Good:
Brilliant title sequence.
Tonally spot-on. (Much more humour than I expected)
Obscene amount of detail in every frame.
Blade Runner-esque score.
Mostly solid performances.
Jackie Earle Haley.
Jackie Earle Haley.
Jackie Earle Haley.
Jackie Earle Haley.
Don't know about everyone else, but enjoyed this much more than I was prepared for.

I loved some parts of the score, whereas other parts sounded like oldschool 'Riggs gets drunk over some bitch' cues from Lethal Weapon.

I thought the film was pretty damn great too.
My main complaint is the guy who played Adrian Veidt. Awful casting! He wasnt anything like in the book. Stupid hair, horrible physique, and too fucking gay! He could have ruined the whole thing, but all the others were spot on, so I just decided to ignore the fact that he looked like a skinny heroin homo.

Saw this last week. It was good. Some poor acting and odd casting decisions and Nixon did look like a fucking
Bo Selecta character. I'd never heard of it before and totally ignored this thread and was happy to watch it without hype as I find that can often destroy a film.
