Today:

Sicko - Pretty good. A few holes, but nothing terminal.
High School Musical - Not as bad as I had braced myself for.
Darjeeling Ltd - An enjoyable waste of time.

I enjoyed this.
I wouldn't group it with the other Ghibli films I have seen though - it lacks the magic of the others I have seen. And replaces it with gritty anti-war messages.

I love that that last bit with all the water was done without CGI.

Stranger than fiction - Could have been a masterpiece. The ending made it 'okey'.

The Brave One - Good, but a few hokey cliches keep it from being great.

The ending was perfect. Makes a change from the protagonist dying all the time.

Agreed.

I only like movies with happy endings.

She's super-cute in A Very Long Engagement, too, even being crippled.
And Jodie Foster has an unexpected role in it, also.

Amelie sucks. Chick-flick.

I have a copy of A Very Long Engagement. I've had it for over a year unopened.
I get the feeling it will be opened very shortly.

Yet you like Amelie... I've never gotten what's so freakin special about this film. ''

Colletaral - Why do people pay Cruise to advertise his sect? Not a shit film, but only because of a poor Jamie Foxx.

I must have missed the scientology in Collateral
I just thought it was a tepid thriller.

The utterly gorgeous Audrey Tautou.
Beauitiful cinematography.
Some lovely feel good moments.
A gnome, that travels around the world.
The quirkiness that the French deliver so well.

I could probably name at least a dozen french films that are much better. Amalie is a Hollywood production, and it shows. I agree it has fine cinematography, but the manuscript is shite.

The Scientology in collateral is more sublime. It's made up of his "take control of your life" crap that he preaches everytime he opens his mouth. Manipulating bastards those scientologists. And yes, it's a dull action flick as well.
