In the trailer, does it give anyone else the irits that the Enterprise is being built on Earth? It's just fucken wrong.

This point may have been raised in one of Mobius's many walls of text, and if so, I apologise.

I did not know this, but now that I do, I'm not surprised. Of course, being the original Enterprise, it would have been constructed on at Earth Station McKinley in Earth's orbit, if we were in the 24th century of course, Federation vessels are commissioned from the Utopia Planetia shipyards.

I've never trusted these large ships that can land on terrestrial surfaces (Voyager for instance). They'd rip shit up horribly, even at 1/4 impulse.

i read that there is a black hole or some paralel universe disclaimer at the begining of the film to acount for all the discrepicys from the original story .
my hunch is this is not going to do very well with the hardcore trekkies , but they will prolly pick up some noobs to the family . the whole thing just reeked of sell out the frachise , reinvent it for a new generation = fail .
i dont think we will see another phenomenon like the star wars movies in our lifetime . not that i am a huge fan , i am just saying the impact they had .

fake trailer alert :

http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/06b666 ... er-trailer

also i heard tom hanks is getting 50 million for the sequel to da da vinci code . its called illuminoti or angels and demons or some shit . 50 million !

Nonce = sex offender, particularly one who buggars little boys. A poofter. Apparently comes from underworld terminology where someone got up to "nonsense with children".
