I love these "answer" sites...full of information...it just doesn't apply to the actual question.
Why is it called a "rim shot" when a comedian tells a joke and the drummer taps the drum several times followed by a single cymbal hit?
and the best answer was...
The term "rim shot" is derived from drumming. It comes from striking the rim of a cymbal on edge with a drumstick, as opposed to striking the top of a cymbal with the end of the stick. Drum rolls are frequently used to build up tension before the conclusion of an event.
The term may be used when the drummer strikes the rim of the snare drum with the edge of the stick or rests one end of the stick on the skin and strikes the rim with the edge.
derrrrrrr....

it's an 80's puegot road frame. it's got the frame, bottom bracket, forks and handlebars. it will be a fun project to piece together.
and this made me laugh... from the monterey weekly rag:
Psychos In Love's "Hippie Death Cult" imagines an army of tie dyed, Jerry Garcia-loving zombies rising from the grave until Dirk Dastardly's guitar solo slices and dices the number like a knife-wielding crazy. While it's hard to top the Misfits meets Dead Kennedys sound of "Hippie Death Cult," the Seaside quartet's "Route 666" comes close with another slab of bloody primal punk. Also on tonight's bill is The Infamous Swanks, who fuse surf rock, rockabilly and Spaghetti Western music on the two minute instrumental blast "Let's Ride."
there's a few mistakes in there, and the two songs it mentions are the only ones with that particular sound but whatever. at least they're fucking listing us finally. they've left us off the bill on our last half dozen shows in the event calander. that write up is for our show this friday.

ok... so the band exploded yesterday at eleven AM.
i just found out from rehab girl that they hired the drummer and bass player from before me and mikhail joined back into the group. these two got fired on stage for fucking up. they haven't played in over a year. literally, the drummer hasn't touched a drumset in a year. the bass player is one of those old meth heads that works at a guitar shop and shows off by playing wannabe satriani type bullshit.
and they're planning on playing the show tonight.
i MUST be there. this is going to be a failure on an atomic level of uber-awesomeness.
god, i just can't even imagine that they believe this is a good idea. this is how tickled i am.

You killed her wife?
I saw a fella throw a tambourine tonight. It wasn't out of anger though. He was overly enthusiastic and in a hurry when he had to set it down to start playing the cowbell.

This is going to sound weird. But I felt just as I did that time I saw a squirrel pooping. Or the time I saw a van full of Amish folk driving down the highway.
