Macbeth is the latest movie by Geoffrey "Romper Stomper" Wright. As you would guess, it's a modern-day adaption of Shakespear's play, set in the ganglands of Melbourne.

I think I'm swayed enough to go see this, if only to see some of the kids struggle with the dialogue.

Hrn, not really a fan of Mcbeth, but I do loves me some Willy S, and I'm always interested in who can and can't pull off adaptations. I reckon Wright would manage it pretty well.

Theres also a production of Anthony and Cleopatra playin in the UK at the moment with Patrick Stewart.

::swoon::

The best version of Macbeth I've ever seen
-- and the best piece of live performance, for that matter --
barely got through the first sixteen lines of text.

also-- I'm very tempted to see Stacey Keach as King Lear in my town.

Sweet! I've been reading a lot about both (Macbeth + Princess Di/tranny/blood play) and I'm as keen as mustard.

Macbeth is probably my favourite Shakespeare play, hence I am not going to see this film.

I finally saw a preview for this the other day.

It looks horrible.

I'm sorry for bringing it up.

I saw them do it again, recently
it's still brilliant.

their version of Frankenstein is even better.

Sounds interesting.
