Has someone here mentioned this before?

Opens next week in Aus, two months before US (???). Sounds worthy.
I wish it opened this week, so I could go and see it during my lunch break.
I really don't want to be here today.

I saw the trailer and was kinda intruiged. It could be pretty bad though.

I base this on very little.

Margaret and David liked it, if that's your thing (or, indeed, thang):

Does sound worth checking out.

It's very good. storyline could be a bit iffy for some, but the attention to detail, the casting and most of all the action sequences are worth the cash. Not without humour, either.

If Margaret likes it, it may suck...

I'll probably see it.

Saw it yesteday. It's pretty good, but largely devoid of feeling. The main thing I felt was that I probably should have been ripped to enjoy it more.

I haven't read the book, but I reckon they could have explored a few more subtleties in the characters back-stories to give it more. Clive was good.

Finally saw this on Saturday...

I loved it.. I re-iterate all of Mazza's points and then some..

I'm a bit of a swashbuckler for post-apoc(ish) settings, though..

I loved the way it was shot. There are several chaotic, extended-take action scenes in it that are just brilliant...especially the one at the end.

Yep. It was eye candy. Was not involving enough...a bit of a void unfortunately.

I liked it. Similiar to V For Vendetta minus the Slipknot clown guy blowing shit the fuck up.

I also swashbuckle for this kind of thing. I pretty much concur with the general consensus on this one. The story was a little thin (maybe I need to read the book)... but the long action shots were pretty amazing. My favorite part was the escape from the farmhouse in the car that wouldn't start.

I'm reading the book. 73 pages in...no action per se. Theo is a middle-aged professor. Very different from the film. Apparently also there's no Kee in the book and the reason they's no babies is because the males are teh sterile.

I haven“t read the book or seen the film, but an interesting sidenote to this is the following scientific "fact":

The y-chromosome is diminishing in the human race, which means that more and more men will be sterile in the future.

So, this films scenario might not be too far fetched.

Read this:

Women can now produce 'sperm' and fertilize their own eggs.

Agreed. 200,000 years of unchallenged leadership and spirited guidance is not something to be taken lightly. Now, let's see if the women can do better.
