Finally finished Black Like Me. Some revealing historical stuff in there. Deeply flawed book, but I have hindsight and live in less troubled times. I'd still recommend the fucker.

Now reading Catch 22. This is a seriously funny book.

Catch-22 is a great freshman effort, but Something Happened has more polish, and more gravity.

Closing Time made me close the book forever on Heller.
How could he write such a load of shit and call it a sequel to Catch 22?
I walked out on the book.

Catch 22 is the only thing of his I've read. I didn't think there was any point reading anything else, especially as I had heard such shit reviews of the "sequel" (publishers wanted to rake in some easy sales, perhaps?).

Something Happened, you say?

Something Happened is regarded by many to be better. I'm not one of them, but it's still very good.

I've only read Catch-22 (many times and I can pretty much say it is my favourite read), my parents have both read others and found them to be utterly lacking. I trust them fairly well implicitly when it comes to books and as such I don't think I'll be trying Heller's other works any time soon.
