The Sea & Cake is the ultimate soft rock band.
Their lead singer Sam Prekop also has some soft rock album pillow joints

Terence Trent D'Arby

his first record The Hardline according to... and Fish Nor Flesh are his two best. I woodent call it soft rock, more like really good contemporary R&B. sign your name across my heart.

Jim ORourke's solo stuff gets pretty soft, in the best way.
