I've heard that one's weak. I really dug White Noise, Libra, and Underworld. Of course, after reading Underworld, a lot of his clever bits are all old-news.

Although not as good as Underworld, Ratner's Star has some of the best dialogue I've ever read in a book.

Just obtained a full and revised edition of Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism by Pape. I've already read a lot of this but had to take the book back and I had the original version of the book which only contained data up until 2003, this one is up to 2006 which covers some incredibly important developments in the war on terror.

Excellent thus far.

I took it out from the library and read selected portions and found it to be compelling so I bought it. Finished it today. The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism by Pape. Cracking stuff. Also read No Country for Old Men last week and loved it. Read Tropic of Capricorn again this week. Great book. I need to read me a new good book. I'm ready for something like Catch 22 but different. Similar only in its greatness.

Done & dusted.

I just watched No Country for Old Men a few weeks ago and wondered how the book went.
The ending of the movie didn't satisfy me.
Maybe if I cared about Tommy Lee Jones' wrinkly cunt wife it would have hit home.
But I didn't . Her nagging turned me off.

Fair call. I can agree with your evaluation.

I just finished American Gods. I liked it a lot. Makes me want to read up on Norse Mythology, amongst other stuff.

Might start Bradbury's Martian Chronicles next.
